Oral Health & Rheumatoid Arthritis
Dr Miriam Lee is conducting a study to explore how gum inflammation affects the immune system in individuals with and without rheumatoid arthritis (RA). We’re currently looking for volunteers to participate.
What the study involves
- Six short (30-45 min) dental visits (weekly). Free parking provided at OHC, UQ
- NO BRUSHING, FLOSSING and MOUTWASH for 3 weeks
- Collection of bio-samples, including small, inflammed gum tissues (saliva plaque, gum fluid, and blood)
Who we're looking for
- Healthy adults aged 18-85
- People with RA in remission
- People at risk of RA (positive blood makers or joint problems)
